Cardcaptor Sakura:Clear Card Arc Story Intro and 1st Promo out

Given it’s been more than a decade since we have had any cardcaptor Sakura, one of the most prominent of Clamp’s manga in an anime adaptation, this is an extremely delightful news for the fans. For many fans, as well as for me who have been anime fans for a while now these nostalgic series are really something to look forward to.

The official website for CLAMP‘s Cardcaptor Sakura franchise began streaming a promotional video for the Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card-hen Prologue – Sakura to Futatsu no Kuma (Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card Arc Prologue: Sakura and the Two Bearsanime on Saturday. The video features the “Yakusoku no Sora” (The Promised Sky) song by Junko Iwao, the voice of Tomoyo (with something similarly done in the To Aru Franchise where voice actors are singing, but more on that later)

This video debuted during the “Sakura Fes 2017 ~Cardcaptor Sakura Birthday Gathering~” earlier in the day. The event also offered a leaflet that introduced the prologue’s story in an outline following the manga adaptation which started last year.

The anime is slated for release on January 8th, 2018 and will be aired on the NHK channel.

  1. This is gonna be an amazing trip of nostalgia next year. As much as I wish to see Sakura immediately since she definitely been a big part of my childhood anime days. I am more eager to see Touya and Yukito (bl assumed cough cough) on this new installment of Cardcaptor Sakura franchise.
